Two boys were reportedly stabbed and injured yesterday, and two others taken into custody, following a fight involving several morning shift students at the Marcus Garvey Technical High School in St. Ann’s Bay.
The police were not able to say what started the knife and machete-wielding melee, which left one of the boys severely injured in hospital after he was stabbed in the abdomen. The incident severely disrupted classes, and forced the police to maintain a presence on the school compound until the shift ended.
Two other boys are reportedly being sought by the police in connection with the incident.
16 year old Shakeal Nelson, a student of the St. Andrew College, was reportedly attacked and stabbed to death by a group of students in Half-Way-Tree yesterday.
According to reports, Nelson, who is from the Golden Spring area of rural St. Andrew, was attacked as he stood close to the Half-Way-Tree Transportation Centre. According to one eyewitness, loud shouts were heard, then he saw the bleeding boy on the ground and a group of other students running away from the scene.
27 year old Keneisha Russell, is set to reappear in court later today, where she’ll face the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm. Russell, who is a stripper (go-go/exotic dancer) by profession and who is also pregnant, is accused of using a knife to stab and gouge out one of the eyes of the father of her unborn child.
According to reports, Russell allegedly attacked her lover on the evening of March 23, 2010, after he had confronted her about her decision to end their relationship. Russell had reportedly threatened to leave the complainant because he was not “treating her as well as her previous babyfather”. When the complainant attempted to stop her from leaving the house, she reportedly took a knife from on top of the refrigerator and began to stab at the complainant. The complainant reportedly held her by the throat and pushed her unto a bed, but she allegedly got up and started to stab at him again, and had his eye gouged. He reportedly spent three days in hospital undergoing treatment.
Dwayne Anderson, an ex-con of a Hague address in Trelawny, is currently nursing multiple chop wounds and is being hospitalised under police guard, after a bloody incident last night that resulted in the death of one of his sisters and two others being injured.
According to reports, at about 10:30 p.m. last night, the siblings were involved in an altercation, during which Anderson allegedly used a knife to stab his three sisters. 26 year old Shakira Frame was reportedly stabbed in the face and neck and died on the spot, while Donnette Grey-Lynch and Aneisha Edwards were injured.
Anderson fled the scene, but was later held by irate residents who chopped him several times.
According to reports, Anderson has had a history of poor behaviour and had previously served time in jail for wounding. They say the incident was fueled by him drinking rum and smoking ganja just prior to when it happened.
A pastor is now in hospital, battling for his life, after he was stabbed multiple times by criminals who surprised him at his Red Hills home in St Andrew last night. He has been identified as Reverend Donald Roberts, pastor of Clifton New Testament Church of God, located on Mannings Hill Road in St. Andrew.
According to reports, Roberts arrived at his home, and confronted by three armed men. He reportedly tried to resist, and was stabbed several times.
According to the police, two men were being questioned by detectives, after they were seen running in the vicinity of the crime scene.
Susan Blake, a 24 year old go go dancer (stripper), was last night arrested and charged with felonious wounding, after she allegedly stabbed a bus driver in the head multiple times with a pair of scissors.
According to police reports, some time after 7 p.m., Blake was on a minibus en route from Kingston to Old Harbour, when she got into a heated argument with the driver of the bus. Blake then reportedly pulled a pair of scissors from her bag and stabbed the bus driver multiple times in his head.
She was arrested and charged by the Old Harbour Police, and granted station bail in the sum of $50,000.
41 year old Anthony Calder (otherwise called Eddie) of Argyle Mountain in Bethel Town, Westmoreland, was reportedly stabbed to death by an unnamed uncle earlier this week.
According to police reports, Calder and his uncle had a dispute over a car that was parked in the yard. There was a heated exchange of words, followed by a struggle, and a knife was used to stab Calder. He was taken to a nearby health centre, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives from Whithorn in Westmoreland are investigating, and the uncle has been arrested.
18 year old Christina Samuels, was remanded into police custody when she appeared in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday, where she faced a charge of murder. It is reported that she turned herself in to the police on November 28, after stabbing a man who she said had “disrespected” her.
The Man, 34 year old Jermaine Campbell, was found on King Street in Montego Bay, with a stab wound to the neck. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional hospital where he later died. She will return to court on December 18, when the case will be mentioned.
An 18 year old male student of the Maud McLeod High School in Darliston (Westmoreland), pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful wounding when he appeared before the Whithorn Criminal Court in Westmoreland recently. He was accused of stabbing a teacher during an altercation at the school in June of this year, and following his guilty plea, he was sentenced to nine months in prison at hard labour.
The Court heard evidence that the school boy and his electrical technology teacher had a squabble while class was in progress. The accused reportedly began throwing stones at the teacher, who left the classroom to report the matter to the principal. While on his way to the principal’s office, the teacher was reportedly attached by the accused who stabbed him several times with a knife, resulting in wounds to the neck, abdomen, and hands. Additionally, his liver and spleen were injured, resulting in him being hospitalized.
A report was made to the police, and the student arrested.
90 year old Edith Morrison, of Jackson Hill district in Trelawny, was reportedly stabbed to death yesterday by her 24 year old grandson – Jerome Campbell – who is now on the run.
According to police reports, at about 4 a.m. yesterday morning, Morrison and her grandson were at home when an argument developed over a cellular phone. Morrison reportedly went next door to her granddaughter’s house, but Campbell followed her, and is alleged to have stabbed her several times. She was taken to the Falmouth hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The Clarkes Town police are no seeking Campbell, who is said to be of an Ambrook Lane, Kingston 11 address.
