A 19 year old man, who is accused of sexually assaulting his 12 year old and infecting her with a sexually transmitted disease (STD), is set to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on July 1.
Allegations are that on February 10, the complainant was at home watching television, when the accused allegedly turned off the television and pulled the complainant into her bedroom where he ordered her to undress. She reportedly ran to the kitchen and took up a knife, but he allegedly overpowered her and took her back into the bedroom, where he sexually assaulted her. The assault reportedly ended when another sister knocked at the gate.
It is alleged that the complainant told her father, but that he dismissed the allegations as lies, and nothing was done. The complainant alleges that she soon realized that she had a contracted an STD and went to stay with an aunt, who she told about the infection. She was taken to see a doctor, who was told about the incident, and who advised that the matter should be reported to the police.
A report was made to the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences & Child Abuse, and the accused was arrested and charged. He was later released on $50,000 station bail.
A high school football coach, who allegedly fondled the genitals of a 14 year old boy three years ago, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday (December 11), where he was offered bail in the sum of $200,000. He was offered bail on condition that he surrender his travel documents and report to the Duhaney Park Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. A stop order has also been placed on him at all ports.
Allegations are that the accused, while employed to a Kingston high school as a coach/student warden, approached the boy’s mother and expressed and interest in having him play for the school’s football team. The boy attended a different school at the time, but the woman allowed her son to attend a residential football camp that was being hosted by the accused. However, on the day in question, it is alleged that the boy was asleep, but awakened by the touch of someone’s hand on his genitals. The boy reportedly protested, but the coach allegedly told him to not say anything and to continue watching television. The coach is then said to have continued fondling the boy’s penis until he ejaculated, and then ordered the boy to fondle his (the coach’s) penis.
The boy did not tell anyone about the incident, and in September of the year he was enrolled in the high school where the accused was the coach. It’s allegedly that the accused then made further advances toward the boy, who told a teacher about the sexual acts that the accused told him that he wanted him to perform with other men. In October 2009, the boy eventually told his mother about the incident, and a report was made at the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse, and the accused was arrested and charged with indecent assault.
He is to return to court for trial on January 2, 2010.
A 43-year-old grandfather was reportedly arrested recently by the St. Ann’s Bay police, in connection with the sexual abuse of his 10-year-old granddaughter. He appeared in the St Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court, where he was granted bail.
Allegations are that the grandfather, a businessman, had sex with his grandaughter who lives with him on several occasions. The child reportedly told her school’s guidance counselor what was happening, and the grandfather was later arrested and charged.
A 61 year old security guard, of a Spanish Town address, appeared before the Spanish Town criminal court yesterday, where he faced charges of rape and indecent assault on his 16 year old step daughter. He was denied bail and remanded in custody where he will remain until December 8 when the case will be heard again.
Allegations are that on August 29 of this year at about 10 p.m., the man and his step daughter were at home, when he went to her bedroom and demanded sex. She refused, but he managed to fondle her and then he left the house. The following night, he again fondled her and also managed to have sexual intercourse with her.
The matter was reported to the police, and after investigations, the man was arrested and charged.
