Police Kill Alleged Mother Raper

40 year old Rodney Joseph, a man who was accused of regularly sexually assaulting and beating his 80 year old mother, was reportedly shot and killed by the police at his home at Top Hill, St. Elizabeth yesterday.

According to reports, early yesterday morning, a police team went to Joseph’s house, and tried to convince him to exit the house peacefully. It’s alleged that Joseph subsequently rushed from inside the house with a knife in his hand and stabbed at a policeman. Another policeman reportedly fired three shots at the knife-wielding man, hitting him in the side and shoulder. Joseph was rushed to the Black River Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Cabbie Allegedly Abducts, Rapes & Buries 12 Year Old Girl Alive

The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse announced yesterday, that a cabbie (taxi operator) – Garsha Wilson – has been slapped with five criminal charges including attempted murder. The charges reportedly stem from allegations that he had abducted and raped a 12 year old girl, then buried her after believing that he had strangled her to death.

Wilson was reportedly questioned in the presence of his lawyer on Monday (April 5), and in addition to the attempted murder charge, he was also charged with abduction, cruelty to a child and malicious destruction of property.

According to the police, Wilson (who is believed to be a friend of the youngster) had abducted her two weeks ago while she was at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre. He allegedly took her to a home in Smokey Vale, St. Andrew, where he raped her and then later tried to strangle her. She became unconscious, and believing that she was dead, Wilson allegedly buried her in a shallow grave. However, the little girl later recovered, clawed her way out of the grave, and made a report to her family who then informed the police.

The police said Wilson was held last week, after a report was made to the St. Andrew North police. He is to appear in court this Friday.

Lesbian Accused Of Assisting With Rape Of Teenager

A woman accused of luring a teenage girl to her home and sexually assaulting her, was granted bail in the sum of J$100,000 when she appeared recently in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.

The incident allegedly took place on Feburary 27, at the August Town, Kingston home of the “heavily-built” 22 year old accused. According to reports, the 15 year old complainant and the accused became friends after the complainant went to her and inquired as to whether or not she was a lesbian (which the complainant confirmed to her). They reportedly started communicating by phone and attending parties together, and it is alleged that the accused french-kissed the complainant on one occasion.

On the day in question, which was also the complainant’s birthday, the accused allegedly told the teenager to follow her home for money for a party. However, when the complainant got to the house, she saw two men there, and the accused then told her that she did not bring her there to give her money. The accused then allegedly pushed the complainant on the bed and performed oral sex on her while one of the men held her down. It is further alleged that both men then took turns raping her and performing anal sex on her.

The matter was reported to the police, and the accused was arrested. The two men are now being sought by the police, and the accused has been charged with aiding and abetting rape, indecent assault and buggery. She will return to court on April 8 for a preliminary hearing.

Man Accused Of Organizing Gang Rape Of Girlfriend

A 22 year old man, who is accused of orchestrating the brutal gang rape of his 21 year old girlfriend, was denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court earlier this week. The man, who is of a Spanish Town, St. Catherine address, and a 16 year old juvenile, are jointly charged with rape and robbery with aggravation. The police have reportedly launched a manhunt for five other men who are suspected to be involved in the incident, which occurred on February 5.

According to reports, the woman had accompanied her boyfriend to meet his aunt whom he said would provide employment for her at a wholesale store. However, instead of taking her to see the aunt, he allegedly took her to his cousin’s house where he demanded sex, and verbally and sexually assaulted her. The complainant was fearful, and complied with his demands for sex, then the accused allegedly took her to another one-bedroom dwelling on the premises, and commanded her to have sex with his friend. She refused, but while she was in the room, a man came in, slapped her across the face, and forced her to have sex with him.

It is alleged that five other men entered the room and also sexually assaulted her. One of the men also robbed her of her cellphone and jewelry. Acting on information, the police came on the scene, and the men ran. The boyfriend and the juvenile were however arrested and charged. Both men are to return to court on March 1.

Grandfather Accused Of Sexually Molesting 10 Year Old Granddaughter

A 43-year-old grandfather was reportedly arrested recently by the St. Ann’s Bay police, in connection with the sexual abuse of his 10-year-old granddaughter. He appeared in the St Ann’s Bay Resident Magistrate’s Court, where he was granted bail.

Allegations are that the grandfather, a businessman, had sex with his grandaughter who lives with him on several occasions. The child reportedly told her school’s guidance counselor what was happening, and the grandfather was later arrested and charged.

Man Arrested For Raping Girl In Church Yard

35 year old Richard Wallace, who allegedly raped a 19-year-old girl in a church yard in Christian Pen, St. Catherine,was offered J$60,000 bail with surety when he appeared recently in the Spanish Town criminal court.

Allegations are that at about 3 a.m. on July 25 of this year, the teenager was going out and asked Wallace, who she knew, to accompany her. While they were strolling through the church yard in the wee hours of the morning, Wallace allegedly grabbed her, threw her to the ground and had sexual intercourse with her against her will. She reported the matter to the police and Wallace was arrested and charged with rape.

He is scheduled to return to court on September 8 when the case will be mentioned.
