The complainant told the court that had on the invitation of his girlfriend, he visited the house only to be attacked and given ‘a proper beating’ by Williams. Williams told the court that he assaulted the complainant because he (Williams) had told him to leave the house but he refused to comply. The fact that Williams and his mother shared the rent responsibilities at the house was not enough to prevent him being found guilty and fined.

The court heard that in early April this year, Simpson accosted the 30-year-old complainant over a man called ‘Brown Man’. Simpson reportedly attacked the younger woman with stones and then threatened to harm her if she did not leave ‘Brown Man’ alone.

In her defence, Simpson denied attacking the complainant, but following testimony by both parties, simpson was found guilty.

According to reports, there was an altercation between a guest and a male employee of the hotel, when the businessman intervened and was wounded. The employee was charged with wounding with intent, and remanded in custody.

On the day it question, Johnson and his mother reportedly had an argument, and it is said that she tried to hold him during the dispute. He however punched her in the mouth, causing her to fall to the ground.

After a short exchange with the judge, where Johnson stated that he expected to spend no time in jail for what he had done, the judge simply sentenced him to three months imprisonment at hard labour.

According to reports, at approximately 11:30 a.m. yesterday, the boy had a disagreement with a female teacher and a male teacher intervened. The boy and the male teacher reportedly had a physical altercation, during which the teacher was allegedly physically assaulted.

The boy was asked to leave, and classes were suspended for a while, as angry teachers demonstrated to show their disgust at the boy’s actions, and to lobby for action to be taken against him.

According to reports, Russell allegedly attacked her lover on the evening of March 23, 2010, after he had confronted her about her decision to end their relationship. Russell had reportedly threatened to leave the complainant because he was not “treating her as well as her previous babyfather”. When the complainant attempted to stop her from leaving the house, she reportedly took a knife from on top of the refrigerator and began to stab at the complainant. The complainant reportedly held her by the throat and pushed her unto a bed, but she allegedly got up and started to stab at him again, and had his eye gouged. He reportedly spent three days in hospital undergoing treatment.

The court heard that on the day in question, the grandmother and the accused woman’s boyfriend had an argument. The accused then came along and allegedly used a pot cover to slap her grandmother on the shoulder.

The accused woman’s father was in court yesterday, and along with the accused, they challenged the complainant’s version of the incident. According to him, the complainant wanted to ‘control the yard’, and on many occasions, referred to the accused as a ‘jacket’.

The judge ordered that the entire family receive counselling from the probation department. They are to return to court on April 29.

The incident allegedly took place on Feburary 27, at the August Town, Kingston home of the “heavily-built” 22 year old accused. According to reports, the 15 year old complainant and the accused became friends after the complainant went to her and inquired as to whether or not she was a lesbian (which the complainant confirmed to her). They reportedly started communicating by phone and attending parties together, and it is alleged that the accused french-kissed the complainant on one occasion.

On the day in question, which was also the complainant’s birthday, the accused allegedly told the teenager to follow her home for money for a party. However, when the complainant got to the house, she saw two men there, and the accused then told her that she did not bring her there to give her money. The accused then allegedly pushed the complainant on the bed and performed oral sex on her while one of the men held her down. It is further alleged that both men then took turns raping her and performing anal sex on her.

The matter was reported to the police, and the accused was arrested. The two men are now being sought by the police, and the accused has been charged with aiding and abetting rape, indecent assault and buggery. She will return to court on April 8 for a preliminary hearing.

The court heard evidence that on November 10, 2009, Bramwell and his sister had a dispute over the use of a cable box. The argument turned into a fight, and their mother attempted to end the brawl. Bramwell then allegedly used a machete to chop her in the forehead. She was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital (where she spent four days undergoing treatment), and later that day Bramwell allegedly attacked his sister once again, then set fire to their mother’s house. The house and all its contents were completely destroyed by the fire.

Bramwell is scheduled to return to court on April 12 when the case will come up for mention again.

The court heard that on the day in question, the complainant was on her way home from work, when the accused stopped her and made sexual advances and demands. He had reportedly done this on several occasions before and the complainant had refused him, and this time she rebuked him strongly. The accused allegedly got angry and picked up a bottle, which he then broke, and pressed against the complainant’s neck, causing a small cut.

The matter was reported to the police, and Joseph was arrested and charged. He is scheduled to return to court on April 19.
