RE School Tour Reaches Clan Carthy High School

Overcast conditions didn’t put a damper on the second leg of the RE School Tour which took place recently at Clan Carthy High School on Deanery Road in the Kingston 3 area.

Prodigal Son, Timberlee, Goddy Goddy, Alaine, Tifa, G-Whizz, I-Octane, Chino, Jah Vinci, Etana and Konshens all performed well for the appreciative audience comprising teachers and students. All the artistes impressed on the students, the importance of abstinence and staying in school – while maintaining good grades and staying positive.

Sponsors Coca Cola, Claro, Mothers Patties and the National Family Planning Board were also on hand with giveaways and goodies for the students.

The RE School Tour is a presentation of RETV and 360 Marketing. It is coming soon to other schools across the island. The RE School Tour recap airs on Saturdays on RETV at 2:30 p.m., with a repeat at 7 p.m.

Deal Or No Deal Coming To Jamaican Television

‘Deal or No Deal’ is a popular television game show, where players choose from a selection of suitcases or boxes (that contain certain sums of money).

Now, Deal or No Deal is coming to Jamaica. NewComm in association with several local companies will be bringing ‘Digicel Deal or No Deal’ to Television Jamaica (TVJ), with the first episode set to air on Wednesday, September 23, at 8 p.m.

Hosted by Simon Crosskill, Digicel Deal or No Deal will allow contestants to play and deal for a top prize of J$1 million. It looks to be a high-energy contest of nerves, instincts and raw intuition. Each week, 26 beautiful Jamaican girls will hold sealed briefcases containing varying amounts of cash, ranging from a measly $1 to a whopping $1 million. Without knowing the amount in each briefcase, the contestant picks one and it is his/hers to keep (if he/she chooses) until its unsealing at game’s end.

The risk element kicks in when the player must then eliminate 25 other cases one by one, with each being opened and the amount of cash inside being revealed.

Johnson died of various medical complications on September 1, aged 47. He was one half of the highly successful and influential Jamaican production duo Steely & Clevie, who were among the earliest exponents of digital dancehall – the hard-edged, computerized version of reggae that began to dominate Jamaican airwaves from the mid-1980s.

Up & Coming Deejay Unicorn ‘Mashes Up’ Weekly Event

An up & coming deejay by the name of ‘Unicorn’ reportedly brought the weekly ‘Boasy Tuesdays’ event on Lyndhurst Road in Kingston to a crashing halt in the wee hours this morning.

According to one report, Unicorn was involved in an altercation with persons at the event, an altercation which quickly escalated into a fight. Unicorn was reportedly seen rapidly throwing bottles, sending patrons scampering for cover and bringing an abrupt end to the event. The deejay was reportedly held for questioning by the police at the Half-Way-Tree police station, but released late this evening without being charged.
