Road Rage: Motorist Shoots & Kills Teenager
17 year old Khajeel Mais, a 6th form student at Kingston College, was reportedly shot and killed last night, after a motorist who had been involved in an accident with the taxi in which Mais was traveling, allegedly fired several shots at the taxi, one of which hit Mais in the head.
The Constant Spring police report that Mais was the sole passenger in a taxi which was involved in a collision with a BMW X5 motor vehicle on Highland Drive in Havendale, St. Andrew, at about 7:30 pm last night. Police say the driver of the X5 apparently exited the vehicle armed with a handgun and fired shots at the taxi, one of which hit Mais in the head. He later died while undergoing treatment at the Kingston Public Hospital.
It’s alleged that the angry X5 driver was upset that his vehicle had been struck, and retaliated by firing shots into the taxi. The driver of the high-end sport utility vehicle sped away from the scene and is still at large. The taxi driver, who escaped injury, was questioned by the police and released.
