14 Year Old Commits Suicide Because His Mom Didn’t Send Him To Summer School

14 year old Delano Martin of Greenvale, Manchester, reportedly hung himself on Monday (July 12) after telling his mother that he would hang himself because she had refused to send him to summer school.

According to reports, Martin had told his mother that he wanted to go to summer school. She reportedly told him that he would be going the next day. This is said to have angered the child who reportedly told his mother that he would kill himself if she did not let him go. His mother later found him hanging from a rope on their verandah.

Old Woman Killed For Her Money?

81 year old Enid Beckford was reportedly shot and killed by gunmen at her home in Bamboo district, Burnt Savannah, in Westmoreland yesterday morning, and the police are reportedly probing the possibility that her death is linked to her being granted $1.5 million through a recent court case.

According to reports, residents of the community heard explosions at approximately 3 a.m. and alerted the police. Upon their arrival, the police found the woman’s body with several gunshot wounds. She was rushed to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where she died.

Parish Council Member Accused Of Using Road Maintenance Money To Pay His Car Loan

Tempers reportedly flared at yesterday’s sitting of the St. Ann Parish Council, following an allegation that a member of the council was using the monthly allocation for the maintenance of parochial roads in his division to service a personal loan. People’s National Party councillor for the Beecher Town Division, Ian Bell, made the allegation while making reference to a request that he had made earlier for $100,000 to implement a flood-mitigation programme in his division.

According to Bell, the councillors were informed several months ago (during a meeting with council officials), that the accused councillor was using the monthly allocation to pay for a personal car loan. Bell said that nothing has been done to deal with the allegation.

64 Year Old Woman Fights 30 Year Old For Her Man

64 year old Maltilda Simpson, who reportedly attacked a 30 year old woman who she had heard was having sexual relations with her common-law husband, was fined $2,000 or 10 days when she appeared in the Petty Session Court at the Spanish Town RM Court yesterday. She was found guilty of threat and assault by Lay Magistrates Kenneth Burton and Phillip Reeves.

The court heard that in early April this year, Simpson accosted the 30-year-old complainant over a man called ‘Brown Man’. Simpson reportedly attacked the younger woman with stones and then threatened to harm her if she did not leave ‘Brown Man’ alone.

In her defence, Simpson denied attacking the complainant, but following testimony by both parties, simpson was found guilty.

Dudus Buttons Selling Fast In Downtown Kingston

Dudus Button/BadgeIts been just over a week since Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke was extradited to the United States to face gun running and drug trafficking charges, and vendors in the Downtown Kingston area are reporting that buttons bearing his image and words are among the fastest selling items right now.

The buttons, which are reportedly being sold for $200, feature two pictures of Coke, along with the words “I Love My People” at the top and “President Dudus” at the bottom. The “I Love My People” is apparently quoted from Coke himself, said just prior to his extradition.

Unconfirmed reports indicate also that matching t-shirts are being printed at this time, and will be available for purchase soon.

Father Chops His Own Son To Death

A 52 year old man is behind bars facing murder charges, after he reportedly chopped his son to death during a their home in Orange Hill district, Westmoreland last night.

Dead is 29 year old Denville Woolery. According to reports, at about 6:30 p.m. yesterday, father and son were at home and had a dispute. During the dispute, the father reportedly used a machete to chop his son, who died on the spot.
