Gunmen Shoot At Passenger Bus – Three Students Injured

Three students – two girls and a boy – were injured and rushed to hospital on Monday afternoon (April 12), following a brazen gun attack on a public passenger bus which was traveling along Slipe Road in Kingston.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 3 in the afternoon, and appeared to have stemmed from an altercation between men in sections of Half-Way-Tree earlier that day. The gunmen were reportedly waiting on the bus, and as it reached the vicinity of Torrington Bridge, they signalled the bus driver to stop. When the bus driver failed to stop, the men reportedly opened fire at the bus, riddling it with bullets.

The injured students are said to be in stable condition at hospital.

Businessman Disarms Gunman; Gun Had A Single Bullet

A Bryco-58, 9 mm pistol, with serial number erased, was handed over to the Ocho Rios police in St. Ann last night, after it was wrestled from a gunman by a businessman.

According to a police report, at approximately 10 p.m. last night, the businessman was about to enter his apartment, when he was approached by three men armed with guns. The men demanded money, but the businessman told them that the money was at his business place. The businessman was then tied up, and two of the gunmen left for the business place, leaving the third to guard the businessman, who eventually managed to untie himself. He then wrestled with the gunman, who subsequently fled the scene, leaving behind the weapon and a single 9 mm cartridge.

Pregnant Stripper Stabs Lover In The Eye

27 year old Keneisha Russell, is set to reappear in court later today, where she’ll face the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm. Russell, who is a stripper (go-go/exotic dancer) by profession and who is also pregnant, is accused of using a knife to stab and gouge out one of the eyes of the father of her unborn child.

According to reports, Russell allegedly attacked her lover on the evening of March 23, 2010, after he had confronted her about her decision to end their relationship. Russell had reportedly threatened to leave the complainant because he was not “treating her as well as her previous babyfather”. When the complainant attempted to stop her from leaving the house, she reportedly took a knife from on top of the refrigerator and began to stab at the complainant. The complainant reportedly held her by the throat and pushed her unto a bed, but she allegedly got up and started to stab at him again, and had his eye gouged. He reportedly spent three days in hospital undergoing treatment.

Brother Stabs Sisters – Kills One, Injures Two Others

Dwayne Anderson, an ex-con of a Hague address in Trelawny, is currently nursing multiple chop wounds and is being hospitalised under police guard, after a bloody incident last night that resulted in the death of one of his sisters and two others being injured.

According to reports, at about 10:30 p.m. last night, the siblings were involved in an altercation, during which Anderson allegedly used a knife to stab his three sisters. 26 year old Shakira Frame was reportedly stabbed in the face and neck and died on the spot, while Donnette Grey-Lynch and Aneisha Edwards were injured.

Anderson fled the scene, but was later held by irate residents who chopped him several times.

According to reports, Anderson has had a history of poor behaviour and had previously served time in jail for wounding. They say the incident was fueled by him drinking rum and smoking ganja just prior to when it happened.

Card Game Ends In Murder

A vendor who allegedly stabbed a man to death following a card game which ended sourly, was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s court this week.

48 year old Vivian Stephens is charged with the murder of 24 year old Ken Adams. Allegations are that on March 3, 2009, Stephens and Adams were playing a card game, when they had an argument about who was the winner of the game. The argument led to a fight, during which the accused allegedly used a knife to stab Adams in the abdomen.

Adams was rushed to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Stephens reportedly fled the scene, and was arrested and charged in January 2010. He is due to return to court on April 30, when the case will be heard again.

Cabbie Allegedly Abducts, Rapes & Buries 12 Year Old Girl Alive

The Centre for the Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse announced yesterday, that a cabbie (taxi operator) – Garsha Wilson – has been slapped with five criminal charges including attempted murder. The charges reportedly stem from allegations that he had abducted and raped a 12 year old girl, then buried her after believing that he had strangled her to death.

Wilson was reportedly questioned in the presence of his lawyer on Monday (April 5), and in addition to the attempted murder charge, he was also charged with abduction, cruelty to a child and malicious destruction of property.

According to the police, Wilson (who is believed to be a friend of the youngster) had abducted her two weeks ago while she was at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre. He allegedly took her to a home in Smokey Vale, St. Andrew, where he raped her and then later tried to strangle her. She became unconscious, and believing that she was dead, Wilson allegedly buried her in a shallow grave. However, the little girl later recovered, clawed her way out of the grave, and made a report to her family who then informed the police.

The police said Wilson was held last week, after a report was made to the St. Andrew North police. He is to appear in court this Friday.
