$80,000 Fine For Cursing ‘Bad Words’

A female, Tamara Williams, appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Friday (November 27), where she was fined a whopping J$80,000 or 60 days in prison for cursing ‘bad words’ and behaving boisterously at the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston recently.

Williams pleaded guilty to charges of indecent language and disorderly conduct, and because she did not appear repentant enough to the resident magistrate (Georgianna Fraser), she was fined $40,000 or 30 days in prison on each charge (instead of the normal $2,000 fine).
